AWD for my coupe!

Twin Turbo, Built short block-- whatever whatever.

I fell in love with AWD with my Jeep SRT8-- I've seen someone do an awd/fwd/rwd mod for the z

I was wondering if anyone had any information on this before I blow 4,000 on a tranny that is only RWD... when I could be sporting AWD

juan of function tuned has one. It shouldn't be very difficult to modify what he did to fit the G.

I looked into doing this about a year or so ago. What I came up with was a ballpark of about $15-$18K(minimum with special contacts, favors, sponsors, etc) to get this done. You basically need a new drivetrain from the flywheel back. Massive suspension mods and extensive frame work as well.

If you have that kid of budget - it is doable, however, if you need traction, there are some better, and far less expensive ways to do it. If it's just for the sake of having the daily driver 4WD benefits..find another car for those needs...it'll be cheaper in the end.

Also keep in mind - if you think you may want to sell the car at any time...good luck getting any decent price for it. WAY too custom modded for anyone to possibly even want to begin with.

Just my take and research results.

Rick

I don't think the sedan awd is capable of handling the type of power you want to put though it. But this year, there is an AWD M45 so that might be the drivetrain you might want to look at. It's built to handle the V8 torque.

Good luck, have fun with that "project". I dont know where you'd get the funds for doing something like that, but I sure as hell know you wouldnt get those funds from working at a T-Mobile store.

I was excited to see what kinda **** chilibowl would post with all of his infinite knowledge of light mods.

I just gave Function:Tuned a call. I'd really like to do it. It sounds like its just some motor-mounts, and a Built G35x Tranny... as I find out more I'll post it up.

I fell in Love with AWD with my Jeep, it would be awesome to have it on the coupe

Chili, I don't work for tmobile, check my profile, I'm a sales rep for building materials
