Synthetic Manual Transmission Oil

Greetings,

After reading the many posts on this website, I have decided to fill my car with AMSOIL 0w-30.

While poking around on the AMSOIL site in my research I see that they also make a Synthetic Oil for my Manual Transmission:
http://www.amsoil.com/storefront/mtg.aspx

Some of the stated benifits are:
• Reduces friction, heat and wear
• Superior high temperature stability

I don't see anyone here discussing it though? Does all the 'good stuff' about Synthetic oil for the Engine not apply to the Transmission? Perhaps it just 'isn't worth it'?

I don't know if it's a GL4 or GL5. If that's GL5 you'll mess your tranny up. I changed mine to Redline and can tell a difference when shifting at higher rpms, plus it's smoother through all the gears.

The oil I linked is a GL4 oil so I'd be in good shape.

When you say you notice a difference what is the difference?

IMO it just seems to engage a bit smoother, esp. when shifting in the high rpms.
