Humming noise when moving from stop
Humming noise when moving from stop
My car has developed this odd humming noise coming from the back end whenever I'm accelerating from a stop or just moving from a stop, and its worse whenver Im starting uphill, seems to appear at low speeds and gets lound when the car is under load , ie when uphill. Its almost like a humming noise/grinding noise, its very difficult to describe . Anyone ?
Thanks,
Mario

Are you certain its not your wheels/tires?
My front tires have a slight uneven wear from the previous owner (camber issue) so when im cruising under 25mph I get a humming noise.
If its a grind, them that's another story. Mine is a definite "humming".

no im certain its not that, its very distinct and lasts about 1 - 2 seconds when you begin moving , so its only below 5 mph, its nothing like the hum of tires , its a lot more metallic and sounds almost like a grind , its honestly very difficult to describe.
not really, i think what i might just do is change the oil in the pumpkin just to be sure and then if that doesn't help ill record the sound and throw it up here. And yea , i suppose it is a lil bit like metal vibrating , but not quite like it, the best way i can describe is like a hum, almost as if you would b making when playing with a large metal saw or piece of flat aluminum kinda like a large glass when you run your finger over the top and you can make it sing, well yea if you ever made a large wood cutting saw sing like that via oscillation then its almost an identical noise, its very very weird.
