Make sure they give you the right fluid. The first time I changed my MT oil my dealer gave me GL-5 gear oil. They said they didn't realize there was a difference, but they had both in stock. They said they put the GL-5 in everything, but I have read many posts here and other places that say GL-5 will eat our tranny.

 

Dealer told me they don't do Manual TRanny Oil changes...What gives? Do we need it??? I have 52k miles on my 03 G.

 

YES! Get the crud out of there. It doesn't matter how little you use or abuse your tranny, you need to get the metal bits that build up in the fluid out. The lubricating properties change over time also.

and especially the diff if you had LSD!

 

what the hell dealer was that?! Dont' eva go back there!
