differential oil question for g35x(05)...

I have tried searching the forum but couldnt find the answer. hope you guys can help.
What type of differential oil is needed for a 05 g35x? weight, brand?
Does infiniti use syntetic differential oil?
Does it have to be from infiniti like the transmission fluid (matic J)? i wouldnt want my car warrenty to be voided.
i have 41k miles on my car and never got my transmission fluid and differential changed yet. is it time to get it done??

thanks alot guys...

Call your dealer or check your manual.

On my 04X, front and rear differnetials call for 75W80 or 75W90 gear oil. transfer case uses Nissan Matic-D or any Dexron-III ATF fluid.

I run Redline 75W90 in the front and rear differentials, and Redline D4ATF in the transfer case. I am going to switch to somethign else for the transfer case. With the D4ATF, my mileage has dropped, I think the cold temperature is thicker than the standard Matic D therefore worse mileage. I am either going to switch to the Redline D6ATF or just back to Matic D. I have not decided yet. Nothing is wrong with the protection of the D4ATF, just the mileage dropped some.

Transfer case only applies to the AWD G35X. Yes, they charge more to change it, and the interval is 30,000 miles. Transfer case distributes power between the front and rear wheels on the AWD.

Thanks for the quick reply!

Around how much would it be to change the transfer case fluid?
Also do you know the interval for the differential oil? I have 46000 miles on my X and im not sure if the previous owner got this done or not. Purchased the X at 36000 miles.

My dealership is charging $135+tax for each differential. Do you think thats alot?
