I just recently had my Nismo clutch(disc/pressure plate), new OEM flywheel, new TO bearings, and Nismo clutch line installed by my local Nissan dealership....chose Nissan because the Infiniti dealership is well over an hour away...... This was done before the Christmas holidays.....a couple of days after I got my car back, I noticed that when I would started the car up and let it idle, it would make this very noticable whining/squeeling sound during idle....sounded like a loose belt.......and when I would rev-up the engine....it got really loud...as loud as the exhaust. I also noticed that when I would press down on the clutch pedal that sound would stop.....however......when I drove it, it would make the sound whenever I would let off the gas pedal.......but after I would drive it for about 15 minutes the sound would go away..... I could turn off the car and start it back up and it would not make the sound....... Its like it made the noise only if the car has not been runnning for long hours..... I checked under the hood to see if the noise was coming from the engine bay, but the sound is coming from underneath the car....

I assumed that it had something to do with the clutch....so I took it back to the Nissan dealership and let then keep it over night so that they could start it up in the morning..... Well, they told me that when they started it, it did not make the noise.....and they put the car on the rack and checked the car out....which they did not take anything apart.....but they said everything looked okay..... So I decided to take it home over the weekend and drive it.....Well the car does not make the sound anymore, but today when I drove the car to work and parked it...I smelled a weird burning smell from the car.....As soon a I poped the hood, I could smell it.....its not a strong smell like burnt clutch.....but I'm beginning to worry about it..... I did have the dealership change out my clutch fluid, flush the brakes, and transmission....I was begining to wonder could the smell be burn off from overspill......I'm beginning to wonder if its related to the noise during start up....

Anybody have an idea what the problem could have been......its not clutch chatter....any help would be appreciated....

 

Bump...... Can anyone help me...... Another symptom that I have been having....but it does not happen all of the time......When I start the car in the morning and leave the house...... I sometimes can not put the car into 2nd gear....I've had to press on the clutch pedal all the way down and it still will not go into 2nd gear..... so I have to shift from 1st to 3rd......This only happens in the morning.....after the car has been sitting there for a long time..... it eventually will shift into 2nd......but not after I've gone into the higher gears..... I'm going to take it back to Nissan this week to let me check it out.....
