I don't understand..why would you take it to redline, isn't that bad for the car? I no longer have a g35, used to have an 04 sedan..right now I have an 07 maxima, yeah it has that CVT ahha..just wondering does it matter when you even shift in manumatic..are you supposed to take it to high rpm every time? I usually stop at 5k and shift?

lol shift earlier. but yea, its a bit tricky to get the shifts down. i usually shift at about 6400-6500 rpms and it does the trick.

try putting a piece of tape a few notches before the redline. You can call that your "apparent" red line and it should account for the shift delay.

btw - I had the 05 model with the rev-matching - a TON of fun, nearly as good as having a stick shift car.

That's kind of a funny question. You shift when you want man...that's the beauty of manumatic. If you were a conservative driver, say for instance a 60 yr. old male, you're real mellow & would shift the car at 2500-3000 rpms. Then there's the more aggressive driver....shifting it at 5K. Then if you're just F'n around or racing, then yeah, take that $hit to redline!!! Enjoy your car man...but be safe. Why buy a car like this & not enjoy it, right?

Seriously though, you just need to find the sweet spot a few hundred RPM's before redline.
Try hitting the clutch in an auto during a driving test . I almost got points knocked off for that violent stop. Luckily we were still in the parking lot.
