2003 Coupe Rear Humming / Buzzing noise

2003 Sedan (ATX) Rear Humming / Buzzing noise
I've recently noticed that there is a fairly loud humming or a buzzing sound that comes from the rear of the car. Seems to happen between 30 - 50 mph. Its definetely not exhaust/engine noise because I can accelerate the car, pop it into neutral and kill the egine, and roll and still get the same hum. Also variying surfaces do not have any effect on the noise either , so its not tire noise.
Which makes me beleive its mechanical in nature. Axles, wheel bearings, diff?? Anyone have any ideas? THere is nothing wrong with the way the car drives, and outside the noise I cant fell any ill effects. Im going to take look if its not too cold on the weekend, see if there is anything obviously a miss. Meanwhile anyone have any ideas? Suggestions? Maybe someone can tell what I sould check while under there??
Thanks in advance

sorry to bump an old thread, but did you ever resolve this? i'm experiencing the same thing, except it sounds like its coming from the front driver-side. It only seems to happen between like 30-50, only for about the first 5 minutes i drive it, and only the first time i drive it each day. just like you, it doesn't matter if im accelerating, coasting, in neutral, braking, whatever.
It's an 04 coupe 6MT that i just bought used earlier this week. any insight would be appreciated.

bump,
my passenger rear has a constant humming at 60mph+, regardless of road, braking, turning, uneven pavement, bumps, etc.....like a noise-maker or a water bottle rubbing on a kid's bicycle tires but not as loud.
I'm thinking wheel bearing
...but wouldn't a bad wheel bearing start to make noises at lower speeds, gets more prominent as speeds increases, and the noise changes when braking/turning or even weaving the car left and right? any help would be appreciated

Bump, has anyone else resolved or had this issue? I'm getting this humming noise on my '04 sedan MT, coming from the rear, that is loudest in the 30-45mph range, but has slowly been getting lourder and worse at different speeds. Started noticing it shortly after getting the tires changed, so that was my #1 theory, but I've never heard tires make a humming noise this loud before.
