It should help some. I have read here that the 5 speed JATCO transmission is way understressed in our cars, runs quite cool and does not really need an additional cooler unless you have a turbo/supercharger. However, I have installed B&M coolers on several cars in the past and think they do help extend transmission life by keeping them a little cooler. I probably will install one on mine, but have not decided yet. Search around for transmission cooler, there are several threads on installations with photos.

Yeah i have seen many G's with the coolers and you are right, there are some threads here which show the install and how to. I have a link to a B&M from ebay for like $50 and it will fit great! I read you install them inline to your return line. This way it keeps the fluid out of the tranny longer and allows it to cool it better. Do you think i might have to refill with J-matic once installed to compensate for added cooler? Maybe not a quart but something just to bring it back up or no need? THANKS!

I doubt it as the dye is more of an identifier. According to my contact who is the director of drivetrain fluids at a major OEM and is also a fluid formulator, the dye does not indicate fluid's condition. Transmission fluids, especially the newer ones, will discolor rapidly due to the materials that it is suspending. Especially if the transmission uses carbon fiber materials, the fluid will discolor very quickly and this does not indicate that the fluid needs to be replaced. In other words, if it's dirty, it's doing its job. Of course, if the fluid looks like coffee, then you have other problems. But if the fluid is just brown or dark brown, that's normal.

Even though Infiniti only requires transmission service every 30k under the premium schedule or if you are towing, using a car-top carrier, etc, I'd still perform a full transmission flush (as outlined in the factory service manual) with an approved service fill (Matic-J from the dealership) periodically. I think every 45-60k is a good interval for severe service, and every 90-105k is fine for normal service. Of course, this is my opinion only and is not what Infiniti recommends.
