Transmission Conversion

Searched for a post that is close, but nothing came up. Need quick information so i can get things rolling again.

I drive a 2003 G35 5AT sedan. Transmission just went on it. Wondering if a
6MT is a lot of extra cash to install. Cause i hate the tip/auto setup, and i have a cheap 6mt transmission lined up if its reasonable in price and time to do it. Has anyone attempted this? What extras would i need to buy?

Thanks
K.

it's been done, it's expensive and it's not worth it.

yeah you'd be better off selling yours and getting a 6mt.

You're looking at 10k. I looked at the same option, NOT WORTH IT!

Might as well just part out and trade your car for a 6MT. Like everyone else has said, the time & money put into this would not be worth it.

.

trade it in for a 6MT, and it will be a lot cheaper.

10K? LOL

6mt tranny in good condition - around $1100
u would need a 6mt ecu
add a clutch pedal and the shifter should line up perfect, then u would need interior peices like shift **** . etc. shouldnt cost more than 5k tops

Thats exactly what I thought when I was considering it. Also is what Relentless thought, until we checked everything out. It's expensive.

A number of shops can perform this swap. It is indeed expensive as everyone has said. OP do some searching. The last swap I remember seeing on the forum was said to have been $6,000, I think either done by PF or Functioned Tuned, but I really don't remember clearly.

Here's a link for your for the necessary parts:
http://www.my350z.com/forum/showthre...light=6mt+swap

do some searching.
