tranny cooler capacity
i intalled a b&m tranny cooler. its the model 70264.
whats the capacity? how much fluid should be in my tranny?
i did this math: when the dealer flushes your tranny, they put in 10 7/8ths quarts of J fluid in. im getting my tranny flushed on monday, but how do i know how much to tell them to add in?

i would also hope so.
When I had mine on, it didn’t hold a whole lot more than without... less than a quart...
As Q45tech stated - add what the manual says plus a little... get the fluid to temp and check the dipstick... I can’t remember the model number of the ATF cooler I have, but it’s a B&M also... I would guess 1/2-1 quart possibly...

^^^ as long as the return line doesn’t blow off... happened to me when aggressively downshifting at high rpm, 5th to 3rd and line blew off - dropped fluid all over the fwy and had no gear... tranny held up though.
I'm not certain if the cause was downshifting or if the hose clamp was loose (or combo of both)... there isn’t normally much line pressure so who knows.
It spooked me though - I took it off the next day and haven’t run with it since... I plan to re-install eventually though. I wish we had threaded connectors.
