Question Yet Another Clutch Replacement Question

Sorry guys, I've searched the history and read a lot of great comments, insight and recommendations.... but I want to ask the question a bit different to ensure I'm making the "best" decision. Here are some key pieces of info to consider:
- 2004 6MT Performance Package
- Daily Driver
- 70,000 miles
- Moderately aggressive driver
- 1 DE every ~2 years
- Replaced original clutch at 40K miles with stock model
- Noticing some clutch chatter now - expecting another replacement ~80K
- Previous car clutch lasted 294K miles (although much less horsepower than G35 - the point, I know the basics of driving a stick)

OK, the issue/question: As I prepare for the next replacement clutch, I'd like to get one that will last longer based on my driving style (which is apparently not changing when it comes to my clutch). Some key points to consider:
- I don't mind some chatter...but not looking for cement truck levels
- Would like to install a flywheel with the clutch that doesn't require replacement each time you replace the clutch (based on my experience, the stock does)
- Don't want to put in a replacement clutch that last less than the stock does for my style.
- I'm married with children approaching college age.... so price is a definite consideration

I saw many recommendations on the forum for the JWT clutch/flywheel combination - should I expect more or less miles out of it vs. the stock clutch (if driving habits remain constant)? I ask because the dealer originally told me that "high-performance clutches" don't last as long "normal clutches" when I ask why I had to replace at 40K. This makes me concerned that the JWT will last less miles than the stock.

Thanks for any help/direction!

BTW, just installed z-tube & motordyne 5/16 plenum and cleaned throttle body & mass airflow sensor.....WOW - what an improvement!!!!

JWT clutch / flywheel is probably the most chattery of the bunch, this might keep you away. As far as the dealer saying the performance clutch will last shorter seems like the usual BS you will get from a dealer.

Go with the ACT flywheel and clutch combo, you won't be disappointed...I love it. The ACT flywheel is a single piece chromoly unit just like the JUN unit, it will give you relatively very little chatter compared to others.

^+1 I've put an ACT clutch in every car i've owned (even my 10 second honda) and have never been disappointed. You are breaking the clutches in before returning to your normal driving style correct? Why are you replacing the flywheel everytime you replace the clutch? Did the dealer sell you on that. No way you should have had to replace the fly @ 40k until you really roasted the disc and the rivets started making contact with the fly.

I do ease into a new clutch - just like when the G35 was new. Good point & advice.

The flywheel was an interesting issue. When the dealer said I needed to replace it with the clutch (the clutch needed replacement for sure), I called "BS". He had is "head mechanic" take a look and said I should be OK. I wrote it off to typical dealer rip off tactics. Only when my car warmed up driving to work from the dealer, I had major - I mean major - chatter/knocking. It was fine when I left the dealer (cold) but sounded aweful as I backed into my parking space at work.

I took it back and they replaced the flywheel and the noise was gone - the performance and sound was back to "new".

I really just want to get a clutch/flywheel combo that will last the longest.

What Flywheel? The 13 lbs one or the 16 lbs one? Thanks
