Whining noise in my gear box

I have 72k miles on my car and I haven't changed my transmission fluid yet, and today while I was driving to work I heard a whining noise every time I accelerated. Has anyone ever had this Experience? Thanks

I have an 04 AT and I am noticing this myself. It only has 45,000 miles on it but it has me worried. That is how I found this thread. I'm trying to find if others have this figured out.

It's normal on all 6mts. It sounds like a low pitched jet engine turbine...right?

Yes that is what it sounds like but...

I have an AT. I was going to take it in but I am going to try and get a look at the fluid this weekend and see how things look there. I do notice it only at low speeds, maybe simply because I can't hear it when I go faster? Transmission acts just fine and it's not kicking hard or anything. Sorry for robbing your thread bud...
