In some situations, yes.. but at 30mph when cruising, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th are pretty close together in RPMs... closer than the difference the tranny allows between accelerating and cruising.

Plus, I generally find that the times at which I care what gear I'm in, I can't afford to look at the instrument cluster right then anyway. [img]/w3timages/icons/tongue.gif[/img]
