G35 6MT: Loose feeling when driving. Normal?

Just wonder whether this is something common to G35 coupes with a manual transmission.
If I'm in any gear accelerating, and then let off the gas, and accelerate again, there is a small jerk then the car starts accelerating again.
If I'm in 2nd gear and take it up to say, 3500 RPM and let off the gas, and then quickly mash the accelerator the car will jerk hard then continue to pull, as if the driveline is loose somewhere. I'm confident my clutch is good, as it doesn't slip. My transmission makes 'clunking' noises from 1st - 2nd upshift, and sometimes I can hear it in the 2nd - 3rd upshift, again as if something's loose. But again my main concern is whether this is common to manual trans G35's.
I recently test drove a brand new 6MT G37, and it had a solid driveline. I took 2nd up to 3500 RPM, let off the accelerator, reapplied the accelerator strongly and all it did was continue to pull; there was no jerking whatsoever.

Thanks guys!

Is there a light that flashes slip on your cluster when doing this?

How many MT cars have you driven in the past? How long have you had the car?

Is the clunk coming from when you move the shifter or from when you're releasing the clutch?

that is common i would say. That happens to me only in tripple digits when i let off the gas and then mash on it again at high RPM. Is it a "thump" sound coming from the rear somewhere?

I've driven MT before, and have had this G35 since '04. I've never treated the car harshly, or done any sort of launches, or hard shifting..always revmatch. I believe this issue is referred to as 'drivetrain slack' or something like that. Its just that the G37 had zero drivetrain slack, whereas my G35 has it somewhat...so I was curious. Loose motor mounts, trans mounts causing this slack...I don't know; just asking if other members have some drivetrain slack.

EvolutionGSR, yes, when changing gears: 1-2 (mostly), or somtimes 2-3 at lower revs, if the revs are just *slightly* off, a clunk can be heard as if something in the trans is loose.

Thanks again.

Ignorance coming from an automatic Our trannys are noisey. I have, as well as other 6mt owners, the same clunking noise going into 2nd. I think your fine. It is a common issue. you just have to get used to it
