When putting it into 2nd gear!!

Hey all, I'm new on the site, and new to infiniti! I just bought a 2006 G35 with 21,000 on it. I have drove a stick shift before (94 honda civic). I was use to putting it into first very smoothly, then all other gears i could just drop the clutch if you know what i mean. For my G35, I smoothly let it out in first, but I can't drop the clutch into second or the car slows down real fast and i get thrown forward. So the only way I prevent that from happening is I have to do what I do for first gear, which is slowly release the clutch, for gears 3-4-5-6, I can just drop it and its normal. Is this how it's suppose to be or is there something wrong?? I'd appreciate any help I can get.

Ugh...not a normal characteristic of the car or transmission. It's hard to diagnose what's really wrong without driving or seeing the actual problem. Your car is still under warranty and I'd take it to Infiniti to have them take a look at it...this of course assuming that you're just getting use to the transmission/clutch engagement (for some it takes awhile and they're never really fully smooth with the clutch).

Theres a button that says VDC off on it. Push it.

And if you knew what you were doing, you'd be able to make it happen in 3rd gear too .

Oh dur...

Yah, you're just driving the car like it should be driven and traction control is kicking in. "VDC" like the above said and you're set...that's awesome that you didn't realize that if that is in fact the, "problem."
