Need a clutch
Need a clutch
I was having some issues shifting into 5th gear. It seems like I had a synchro issue. I took it up to the infiniti dealer. They will be putting in a new transmission (a refurb, but it is new to me.) Anyway, I have an 04 6mt with 83,000 miles on it. Since I am getting a new tranny, It would probably be a good idea to replace the clutch. I am not looking to spend a ton of money on some upgraded clutch. I would prefer to keep it stock and spending a bit less. I've seen the Daikin Clutch Kit listed for around $300-$350. Does anyone know anything about this clutch kit?
I just got my car back from the dealer today. I had the tranny and clutch replaced. I went with the stock clutch. My old clutch had a some tension to it. It wasn't tough, but it wasn't soft either. This new clutch feels like a feather in comparison. It feels like there is nearly no tension at all. Is this normal? everything seems to work, but it feel strange being so soft.
So you car's clutch feels actually good? Compared to the absolutley horrendous feeling of the clutch before? Count your blessings, if it works, it works. I HATE how my clutch feels when pushing it down, and how hard it is to get out of 1st smoothly.
My clutch feel too soft. I will ride it out for a week or so before taking it back to the dealer. It feels like it may need to be adjusted. It feels like the clutch isn't completely disengaging. It is tough to shift out of first and tough to shift into 2nd gear.
The clutch tension is not adjustable. They installed the newer design of clutch assembly. The 03 & 04 clutch feel was horrible. It took me over a month to get used to my clutch when I first got the car new, and I had been driving manuals all my life. If you look at these forums back in 2004-05 you will see that this was one of the most complained about issue.
