Messed up Clutch? Please help

So when ever I'm accelerating hard, the rpm's go up very fast but the car does not go proportionally faster to the engine speed. This happens mostly while in 1st, but any gear will do it. It will eventually catch the gear if i let off the gas and go on the gas slowly but if I try and gun the gas it will just slip. Obviously its the 6MT and the car only has 45k miles.
Is it time for a new clutch?

had the same exact problem and symptom at 46k miles. it was the clutch. but look on the bright side, i put a stage 1 clutch and lightweight flywheel and it runs even better now.

btw, there is a 30% cashback deal with msn and ebay going on right now. you can get a deal on a clutch/flywheel package. considering, you can get a stronger and lighter setup for a fraction of the price. the dealership wanted 1200 for flywheel, 500 for clutch, and probably a liver for labor. the clutch/flywheel packages on ebay come with everything u need to replace: throw out bearing, alignment tool, disc, plate, flywheel.

we have dual mass flywheels so they cannot be resurfaced. so you will need a new flywheel as well. it's doable but not recommended to use old dual mass one, you would have to look at it and see what shape it is in. but i would not take any chances considering you don't want this to happen again so soon. a stock flywheel weighs a hefty 33lbs, i got a conservative 18lbs one, with an 11 or 12lbs one you will have chatter, check youtube for exact sound, it sounds horrible on some. the lighter flywheels are not dual mass, just fyi. also, i did research on exedy, they make cheap oem clutches, but they have a good reputation and feedback. they're known for making true oem clutches for several manufacturers.

Damn I need a flywheel too. I was looking on ebay like you said and they have good prices. But whith the clutch kit, im guessing it doesnt include the flywheel? Because that seems like the most expensive part. And about the dealer; hell yeah man, im never taking my G back to the dealer. Nothing but a bunch of rip offs and insurance fraud

yeah, there are kits that include both clutch and flywheel, some under $400 for both... minus 30%, great deal!!

something like this:

You don't have to replace the flywheel.

you don't have to, but any transmission shop or dealership will advise you to, and it's highly recommended. your clutch is already worn, there is going to be some scarring of flywheel, that which cannot be resurfaced. and since ours went out so soon, almost prematurely if you ask me, rather not take any chances.

it is very sad, i had many cars clutches last over 100k, this was very disappointing. what's worse is that it's a wear and tear item that's not covered under warranty... how convenient. nissan is sure not winning me over with this one.

Yeah with how I was driving it I wouldnt be surprised that its gone to hell. But if I do change the flywheel and all that what if I went straight to stage 3, would it just be more durable? granted i only have cold air intake and a plenum
