Drilled Aluminum Pedals for 5AT
I've been thinking of buying the Infiniti Drilled Aluminum Pedals for my '04.5 G35 5AT, and wanted to know just how easy or difficult they are to install. I'm not impressed by all the aftermarket clip-on pedal kits, and PerformanceNissanParts.com has the real Infiniti aluminum pedal kit for $65.
I've read in other online forums that they can be a real pain to install (need a mirror, drilling, etc.)...has anyone installed the 5AT pedal kit themselves, what tools do they require, and how long did it take? Thanks.

Yeah the brake pedal is a bitch & you'll need a good 2 part epoxy to glue on the E brake pedal. But while you're installing the gas & gluing on the E brake pedal, let the brake pedal soak in a pot of really hot water & it'll make the rubber pliable & easier to work with.

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I heard the brake pedal is a pain, but I may give it a try. Soaking the brake pedal in hot water...I'm assuming you mean the old rubber one to get it off? Thank you for the tips.

I remember trying to install that damn brake pedal. What a PITA. AFter about 30 minutes of trying to get it on, I walked away in frustration. My dad saw me, came over and popped it on in about 30 seconds. I guess I loosened it up for him

Ah ha, I see. Soak the new brake pedal in hot water. Thanks. BTW - I will probably purchase them from PerformanceNissanParts.com for $65 for the 5AT kit (the least expensive I've seen so far).

Re: Drilled Aluminum Pedals for 5AT
I got mine from ebay for less than $80,
I like ebay one cuz it had infiniti logo on it.
Gas pad was easy since no drilling required.
Break pad took awhile, had to drill 4 hole and it was made of tough metal, I use battery power tool and it took forever!!!
E. Break was easy only 2 hole.
Foot rest was easy no drilling.
I'll post a pic tommorrow

Re: Drilled Aluminum Pedals for 5AT
Noticed the reason for the difference in price between EverythingG35.com and PerformanceNissanParts.com...the former Aluminum Pedal Kit (5AT) comes with the e-brake pedal while the latter does not. I think I like the uniformity of having all pedals in the drilled aluminum, so I may just purchase from EverythingG35.com for a few dollars more.

Re: Drilled Aluminum Pedals for 5AT
Something interesting I found today while putting on my pedals... The brake pedal slides on from the side... I lubed it up with some Windex, and slid it on... Just start at one side, making sure the top and bottom of the pad are both over the actual brake pedal, and slide it on... It will slide enough to allow the other side to "pop" into place... It took about 15 seconds to do... There are recesses on both sides of the top and bottom to allow this...
