Transfer fluid drain/filler plug gasket part # ?

Hi all,

Does anyone know the transfer fluid drain/filler plug gasket part # ? Thanks

Any DIY instructions for the procedure would be a plus.

Thanks...

Doing the transfer case is going to be the same as the rear diff. You dont need a new gasket. It is a metal gasket just like the rear diff and you'd only need a new one if you damaged the old one.

I am just reading from the manual and they said not to reuse it. I will be stopping by at Infiniti to pick up all the washer/gasket for the DIY for coolant/AT/Differential/Transfer so figure I'll just get it since it's only a couple bucks for one.

they always say not to reuse a gasket... i've never replaced a gasket when replacing any fluids on my car. I'm at 60k+ and still have the oil drain gasket that came with the car brand new. Still on the oem tranny drain gasket after 3 drain/fills, same rear diff gasket after 2/3 drain/fills.

Yeah, I've read others don't change it too. Not that I don't trust your expertise (as far as I remember you work at a mechanic shop yourself) but if it's only a couple bucks a washer and these procedures are only perform every 2 years or so, it's really pocket change and I can have better sleeping nights.

I just did some math. Let's say you change the differential and it's two washer ($2.50/each). Meaning you spend about $5 bucks. Divide that by 2 years (730 days). Each day it cost less than a penny. I think my daughter can afford that by just picking up the changes in the house.

I went to dealer to pick up some parts today.

FYI, part # 11026-4N200 gasket is the same one use for front/rear differential drain/refill and the transfer drain/refill.
