BEARLY replaced clutch a year ago and its out??!!
i replaced my clutch about a year and 3 months ago and now its slipping when i gas it. I DID NOT drive recklessly but drove slowly and carefully for the past year and never stalled. BUT i DID have a problem with the mechanic who installed my clutch which took him 7 days to fix, messed up with hydraulics, and he couldnt figure out what the problem was to install the clutch and i had refer him to a online guide on how to install clutches for g35s. the mechanic would often test drive my car to try to figure out the problem and im guessing he burned my clutch down to the ground.
Does anyone think its my clutch that is out or is there maybe something else that needs to be replace like a pressure plate or flywheel?

Lawrence, I can certainly understand your frustration and in hopes of better understanding your situation I have a few questions. To begin, Did you replace the flywheel when you installed the clutch? Were the Slave and Master cylinder both replaced at the time of install? Have you noticed any fluid leaks under the car lately?
Answers to these questions will provide insight to the issue. Ultimately there are a number of factors that can affect clutch life and performance. Let me know more about what is happening and under what circumstances it occurs and I will be happy to assist you further.

well i ordered just the clutch which was the jwt clutch but i didnt order the flywheel so i guess what ever was in the box for the clutch is what i had installed. i dont really know what the mechanic touched or anything but i dont have any leaks but when its reallly cold, its hard to put into first gear sometimes.
also my 3rd gear would sometimes grind if im not carefully putting into gear

You seem to be describing two seperate issues. Issues with gear selection on one or two gears doesn't evidence a problem with the clutch kit. This is due to the fact that the clutch does the same job no matter what gear you are moving too or from. Notchiness or griding when selecting some gears is actually quite common with the Getrag transmission used in the G35. There are countless threads on G35Driver.com that reference this problem and many people have had their transmission replaced under warranty because of these issues.
On the otherhand, you explain that the clutch is slipping under acceleration. This certainly provides evidnece that the clutch is reaching the end of its life. Because you seem to have reused the stock flywheel it is quite likely that the resultant lack of flatness on the flywheel surface has expedited your clutch wear. It is my suggestion that when you replace your clutch this time that you also replace the flywheel. You can opt for another stock dual-mass flywheel or choose one of the countless aftermarket steel or aluminum options that are available.
Please let me know if you have any further questions and I will be happy to assist you further. BWT, you may want to take a trip to the dealer regarding your transmission related problems. If you are still under your 70,000 mile Drivetrain warranty they will likely replace the transmission (they replaced mine).
