The lighter the flywheel the more noisy and jerky it's going to get, but the engine will rev a bit quicker. Mine sounds like a mack truck under 2krpm since the swap with a 13lb. You also might get some shudder (shaking) during engagement.

Personally, I wouldn't put my engine through the abuse. Our flywheels are dual mass flywheels. I have yet to find an aftermarket flywheel I would use.

It will chatter like a mutherfocker, you will instantly feel the revs climbing faster, but that feeling goes away really soon, after you get used to it.

It depends on what you mean by "better"

I have a 12lb because it's the lightest I could find at the time.

How come no one argues the dangers of a lightened flywheel when the lightened pullies are so bad?

Not sure what the danger of a light flywheel would be...would be interested to hear about someone who got burned by a light flywheel. dual mass it's more to reduce noise and vibration than anything.
