Clutch Sticking 05 6mt 16K mi.
I can not believe it. My freaking car has Under 16K mi. & the clutch sticks half way up when driving. It also has no pressure on it when engaging until you hit the 1/2 point. This really bites. I bring my car out after winter storage only to be greeted with a messed up Clutch. NOW,... I read that this is common & tends to be the Clutch Slave Cylinder OR Master Slave Cylinder. I SO hate dealing with dealerships. Now, I have to bring this car to them and hear the idiot Service Manager try to tell me that the clutch may be gone. I swear, This car has 16K mi. with 80% of the breaks left & the tires are still in good shape [its mint]. Obviously the car was not beaten & taken care of. Anyway,.... Will this be covered on my warranty since the car is 4 years old with under 16K mi. Does anyone have any advice that may help me when bringing this car to the dealer.. Times are hard, and i really can not deal with anymore bills. LOL

Anyone ever try to dump their clutch at 4.5k and right when your about to take off, the clutch is stuck to the floor. LOL. That's what happened when the G next to me tried to take off. I was like wtf, did he stalled, and when we were side by side, I asked him what happened, and he said the clutch was stuck to the floor.
Lesson: Don't try to street race, and don't dump your clutch a 4.5k. The stock G wasn't made to do that. Just cruise.

Mine was doing it when I bought it earlier this year. Took it to the dealership and it was fixed the next day for $0. Works fine now. I did find out that the previous owner had the clutch go out at 17k (I have 33k now) and the clutch was replaced with an oem. I can tell you after the master and slave were replaced it was like night and day driving it.
I learned very quickly that you shouldn't launch much higher than 3k with oem G's by reading this forum and getting a feel for the car.

I have been dealing with the same clutch pedal sticking as you describe. Mine is definitely weather related, warmer and the pedal sticks. Check your clutch fluid and see if it is turning brown. I have been researching this for a few weeks and found some good info. A link to rangeracceleration.com (or something like that) led me to a possible solution. According to what I found, the brown color means the fluid is degraded and boils at a lower temp and does not function correctly in the system. I have an appointment at dealer tomorrow to find out why my fluid has been contaminated. Replacing the fluid is supposed to stop this issue.
Oh yeah, on first visit they told me clutch was gone ($1900). I got a second opinion from tranny shop and they said nothing wrong with my clutch. Damn stealership...
