transmission valve body, control valve assembly

Hey guys,

Has anyone, with an AT 05-06 RWD, who's had that shudder vibration shake at or around 40mph gotten replaced the transmission valve body (control valve assembly)? As stated in the service bulletin.

Wondering if it worked and how long you were in the shop.

I had mine replaced over a year ago. Going up hill, the car would shudder around 40-42 mph. They had to order the vb. Took about week and a half. They gave me a loaner and had it finished the following day. The line pressure actually increased as recorded by the Autoenginuity program I was using at the time. I do not remember the actual increases though. Worked great, felt like more crisp shifts afterwards and no more shuddering. Also essentially got a drain and refill on the ATF because of having to drop the pan to get to the VB.

I took the advisor for a ride in the passenger seat and had a tech in the back. Found a decent hill, went 40mph and it started. That was enough for them. I had the TSB number but luckily it is a good dealer and they gave no hassles.

I think I had around 15,000 when I first noticed it. At first it was intermittent then started occuring more often. Finally got it replaced around 20k when I read about the TSB.

I thought the transgo was an upgraded valve body

Is the valve body a different design or is it just different solenoids? I've never heard of this problem.

well the car did the shuttering a little bit before but the transgo increses line pressure so now insted of only doing it while cruising around at 40mph in 5th it does it does it more frequently.. im not a trans guy so im not sure of just what part is replaced when the dealership fixes the issue?
