3.3 FD VLSD full pumpkin

Will a 3.3 FD VLSD full pumpkin out of a 2003 350z auto work/bolt on a 2003 G35 Sedan auto with open diff. Anyone done this? Any issue with VDC? Thanks for your input.

It should....the FI guys usually grab this to help them stay in gear and maximize boost for each gear.

In fact, I'm going to grab one of these boys in my next round of mods

I have a chance to buy one now. Looking for a little confidence before pulling the trigger.

Did this last summer. No problems accept had to open up 3 units to find the VLSD in the group.

Picked it up and swapped it in this afternoon.
Ideal conditions of swapping it in on my back, in -5degree with wind chill.

Works great, can def tell there is a vlsd there now.

I'm right behind you. This will be my next mod after I upgrade the valve body and trans cooler! How much did you find one for?

$300 from a low mileage 350z. Got it from an auto wrecker.
Change the dif fluid before you put the pumpkin in
Much easier to do when its on the ground,

What year was it from and does it whine a lil? That was the problem I had with the 3.5 vlsd diff I got last year. I ended up taking it off and having the old one put back on

As far as they could tell me it was from an 04.
That being said I got to see the car and it looked immaculate, like never seen a winter or anything. Despite being in two pieces
Doesn't whine at all!,
Any reason why it would whine? worn out clutches?
If you put a thicker oil in it what did it do?

Well the story was posted a while back...I'll have to dig up the threads. Basically bought it from a member here...had him install it...when I drove home from his house I immediately started hearing this small tea kettle like whine coming from under my back seat. Sounded like an old school bus I used to ride back in elementary school.

Anyway, I called him up and he's like its been sitting in my garage for a while...drive it for a week and let me know if the sound goes away...

I do so...the sound persists. Anyway, I go back and he drains all the old fluid and puts in some motul diff fluid I think (white bottle IIRC)... and asks to ride along to see if the sound goes away...

No good...

After driving it again another week, I decided I had enough and agreed to have the old stock diff put back on. I ended up selling the 3.5 vlsd diff to a member on my350 and now am waiting to find another diff with vlsd but a 3.3 this time since I hear it'll be better for the turbos I'm planning to have installed in a few months!
