Hey, picked up my '05 6MT with 24k a few months back and have just started hearing very high pitch squeal/screech noise at higher RPM (>3500), but it does not happen when the clutch is depressed. The sound is pretty faint but still noticeable. Almost sounds like a squeaky belt pulley, but it can't be since it doesn't make the sound when the clutch is in. Any ideas?? Thanks for the help!!

 

i got the same thing sounds like a whistle. i have it in 2nd 3rd and reverse gears only when im cruising and not giving it gas or not depressing the pedal. lemme kno if u find out. anyone???

Im will ing to bet you guys have an aftermarket intake/filter system.. if so.. its normal.

 

yea i still have the whistle witle from the pop charger but this is different that recently happened. i have an 04 mt with 65k
