you have a 5AT right? There's no flywheel in a AT, there's a torque converter. What you are describing is what I would call transmission slippage, which is usually associated with worn clutch packs in the trans. Did you ever flush the trans?
No I haven't flushed it in the 4 months I've owned it but guy at tune up shop said the tranny fluid was black today wit 1 quart left u guys think the flush will do the trick??
Ouch that doesn't sound good at all. The fluid is supposed to bright cherry red. At 50k miles when I first serviced mine, it was a darker red, but still red. How did the tune up shop measure it to only have 1 quart? Did he just drain the pan? The pan only hold 4ish quarts. The rest of the fluid, about 7 quarts is in the rest of the trans and most of it in the torque converter. So if he just drained the pan and only got one quart out that still means you were 3 quarts low.
I would get the transmission flushed completely at a quality shop/dealer. You may want to have the shop filter the fluid that comes out and see if there are large chunks of clutch material suspended in the fluid. Refer to the Infiniti Service manual to what size is acceptable. I still think it's on borrowed time. Should have had it looked at before you purchased. Best of luck.
