G35 Coupe "Sport Package"
5AT questions

2005 coupe with 32K miles. bought new and car is 4 years old from in service date. car is only driven regularly during spring, summer, fall. is it too early to have flush and fill...is it overkill?

side question if you know. when is a valve body upgrade necessary? was going to wait to have it done with Vortech install as car is only 260RWHP per last dyno.

thanks.

It's never too early to change the fluid! A drain and fill is recommended yearly or flush every 2 yrs, for a stock car. I drain and fill every 6k miles (but that ends up being only twice a year at most for me).

VB upgrade helps to prevent clutch pack wear in high torque applications. You will want to get it before you drive the car with the Vortech.

I drain and fill every 20-25k miles after the initial 30k. That ends up being about once a year for me.

might as well do the VB now

flush/fill is good enough every 30K miles for normal driving

yeah, I could do that prior to Vortech install when I have the $$.

30K is what I was thinking for my car.

Just hit 40k on my 06, pretty sure the 5AT fluid was never changed based on previous owner's service history (30k miles is the maintenance interval to change it). Will look into getting it done soon.

Shifts fine, except the 1-2 shift is a bit rough when the fluid is completely cold after sitting all night. Rough shift goes away after the first few 1-2 shifts. Is this normal or an indicator that I better hurry up and change the fluid?
