A little grinding noise taking off in first gear
A little grinding noise taking off in first gear
Hey guys,
Just bought a G35 Coupe a few days ago and it is ultimately my greatest investment. But for some reason, when I take off from first gear I hear a little grinding noise when I am synchronizing the clutch with the accelerator. What could it be? Is it something to worry about?

so when your under 2500 RPM you hear a grinding noise? explain more....but what would primarily cause that if its noticable is probably an aftermarket flywheel thats not dual mass like the OEM one that comes on the G stock. The difference between the two is the OEM flywheel has a dampener that reduces the vibrations of the transmission that create that noise. Aftermarket flywheels don't have that dampening effect because of the one piece design. Also you could try changing the transmission fluid. How many miles does it have and what year is it? any upgrades that you know of?
thanks for the info winterdevilg35...but ya under 2500 RPM...its more of a vibration than a grinding...there was no upgrades or aftermarkets parts in the G (that I know of)...its a 04 with about 80 000 miles..what is the best transmission fluid to use?
well i use Amsoil fluids for the engine, transmission, and differential. use the "search" option and find out what other people reccommend and what they have used and prefer over others. But most of all full synthetic all the way is what i believe in. any other questions let me know.
