Drivetrain Questions and info regarding transmissions, clutches, etc.

replacing clutch. is this reasonable? $$$

Question replacing clutch. is this reasonable? $$$

Need to replace my clutch, the shop is quoting me 1000.
500 for parts and 500 for labor.
parts is for an OEM kit
and labor is for 4 hours of work

Ive never replaced the clutch i dont know whats reasonable charge for this. Can you guys give me an idea?

actually for that much i would go aftermarket, and also get a new lighter flywheel

Labor sounds right and price of the OEM clutch as well. If you buy an aftermarket clutch one you will save maybe a 100 or so, but if you like the way the current one feels then I'd say stick with it. Unless you are about to exceed the power limitation of the stock one in the near future.
