i have an 06 mt... and everytime in 1st gear going to a full stop..as i push in the clutch in 1st to go into neutral... it makes a loud grinding noise...and also when i shift from 1st - 2nd .. it makes a loud grinding noise.. i tried shifting it slowly but that doesn't help. it happens about 90% of the time i drive... help ??

 

what RPM are you shifting at from 1st to 2nd???

 

check fluid level, & color should be almost clear..clutch release - was it adjusted-maybe it's not releasing? have it checked soon

 

check fluid color/level - flush if dirty

could be a bad syncro in the trans...happens a lot

 

im shifting at 2.5 , and the fluid color is dirt brown, it wasnt adjusted though.

 

dirt brown must go before the tranny heaves. be sure to drain, fill, short run, drain, fill, to get it clean. u don't say how many miles on fluid but could be anywhere from normal wear at 40k+ miles to you've been toasting it regularly for the fluid to be brown...

be sure to use good quality GL-4 type, 75W-90 fluid.
