High Stall Converters and 60's

I know a few guys on here have valve bodies along with a high stall convertor for their 5at's

im curious how well they helped improve peoples 60's at the track and how well a stock tranny holds up. i would think this would be the biggest part to getting a stock block 5at at the 12.0 range

this would be na or FI

Not too many people have swapped out their torque converters. If you go over 350 torque or so it is recommended that you build the trans (for most people anyways) if stock 5AT.

The stock stall is 2800 which is pretty high already. Depending on what your setup is, you might not gain all that much from the TC swap.

What are you using your car for?

that's not the true stall... it's more like around 2300.

IF you have a line-loc and/or the correct tires...yes it will help your 60 ft times.

Explain your set-up and lets go from there.

I've got my stall set at around 3100, my car has been to the track once with the stall installed...everything else, city driving. Would I recommend it for a DD? No.

Hp/tq= 393/325

Your choice.
