Slight normal double bucking getting worse 6mt!

Ok I assumed since I have owned the car that the slight double bucking you get from the 6mt when you give it some gas after letting off was normal. It seems to be getting progressively worse now though. I mean it isn't at the point where I think I need to bring it in but its annoying now. Any ideas? Thanks

Spark plugs. Usually a sign your car has the gasket oil leak into the one of the spark plug holes. I would check the usual first though. Bad gas, dirty filter, etc

Dang. Don't think its bad gas since it has pretty much always done it. My air filter is little discolored but not in need of replacement yet, which I will do soon anyhow. I really hope its not the gasket because if im correct you gotta replace the valve cover or something for like $220 rather than just using a kit to fix right? I always thought this was the transmission not the engine wow. Well that makes sense since i just started to notice the rpm gauge kinda wiggles a bit when it bucks. Should this be moved to the engine section rather than the drivetrain? Forgot to mention its an 03 btw. I have only owned it though since 09. One owner before me, the woman who bought it, and I have all of her service records. Thanks again.

I have an 03 also and they are notorious for the leak. Its a really quick check though if its 5 or 6 which is the drivers side plug tubes. Just take off the intake tube. The coil packs are right on top held on by a 10mm bolt on each. You will definately know if its leaking right away. I would look right away though since the more it fouls the more you car is misfiring and bucking.

Your correct as of right now its the cover that needs to be replaced. Theres an aftermarket solution on here that came about last month. Cant attest to an experience but they drill out the old gasket and put in an oversized one thats replaceable in the future.

Ok. I'll check it after work tomorrow. Are the 5 and 6 cylinders the most common? Would this aftermarket one come up in a search? Any idea on the name or cant remember? Thanks for your help btw.

by "double bucking" do you mean when you are cruising in 1st gear for example and then let off the gas and the car bucks forward or just jolts you around a little bit? I fixed that problem with Motul fluids.

Well that I always thought was normal. I'm talking about maybe 3rd gear ish when you let off and let back on it kind of does the buck you are referring to but quicker and not as bad. I ordered my fluids and they should be here Tuesday and I'll replace them on sat.
