My car is in service now having my transmission replaced at Mellineum Infiniti in Nassau county, NY. It was grinding going into 6th. A 10 minute test drive was all they needed followed by a 5 minute call to Infiniti while I waited to have my oil changed. I was given a G35X to drive as a loaner (which came in handy in the crappy weather last night) and I look forward to picking up my car tomorrow. The service writer Robby was very accomodating and professional. I can only say good words about the service I received. I hope the repair is as good as the service. I have no doubts it will be.

I have an 04' sedan and have been having major issues with the car shifting into 2nd gear. Not so much a "Grind" but seems more like a synchro type problem. If I shift real slow, no problem. Shift at anything more than granny speed and it feels like the synchros aren't quite doing their job. Fairly consistent too. They have also looked at it once and said everything was "normal". I'm bringing it back in next week because I have a new Rogue short shifter kit I want to install but no way am I going to until this isssue is dealt with. Sounds like a nice long drive with the "Tech guys" is in order. Thanks for all the info. This thread really helps.

Check your paperwork when you get your M/T replaced...
You should also be getting a new "Clutch Pedal Assembly" as well...
We've done 4 of them in the last three months...

My tranny replacement went well, and I did get a new clutch as well in the deal. My only gripe is I now have the infamous "clutch chatter" when starting from a dead stop in 1st. I have driven manual all my life so it is not "user error", lol.

Has anyone found a cure for this issue yet?
