Burnt Clutch and Flywheel question.
Burnt Clutch and Flywheel question.
Hey all,
I was searching around the forums but didnt find the exact answer to my question.
My clutch is done, it is slipping and smells like burning all the time. I think it's shot. I called infiniti, and they said that the clutch assembly from the factory HAS to be ordered with the flywheel.
I called Kragen, and Napa, and Autozone, and dozens of places online, and they all sell "clutch kits" which include the pressure plate, throwout bearing, clutch disc, and alignment tool. They sell these for $300-500. But infiniti says that you cannot replace it without getting the flywheel because it is ATTACHED to the clutch assembly.
Do I infact have to get the assembly from Inifniti, or can I just get the "kit" from these other places? Do I need to replace the flywheel as well, if so can I get the flywheel seperately from Kragen or an auto parts store and do all the work myself?
