03 auto transmission problem. help
its an 03 sedan with the 5at transmission. the car has 103xxx miles on the car. the problem started off about a month ago and wasnt near as bad as it is now.
whenever i would be cruising around 50 and be in 5th gear, if i were to slowly press on the gas to accelerate, the motor would rev higher, but the speed would stay the same. it almost felt like a clutch slipping on a manual. only if i gave if enough gas the transmission would downshift and lets say its not the smoothest downshift i could ask for. just yesterday, went and got the transmission fluid changed, and now its even doing the problem when im simply starting off in 1st. i was at a red light going up a hill on the way to work this morning, and the problem occurred just as before...but this time it was in 1st. from a stop, i let off the brake, and press on the gas. the motor starts to rev up to 3k+ but barely any power is going to the wheels. then a hard thud, and the car takes off. and like i said, especially for this instance, it feels like a slipping clutch on a manual.
any help or some sort of solution would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys

I'd be willing to bet its NOT your valve body
If anything it is more likely to be clutch packs slipping. This is why I always recommend people put better cooling on their transmissions. Factory is insufficient like 99% of the time. It will get your through warranty, but if you really want an AUTO to hold up you need to keep temps from climbing past 220-230*.
I am running a B&M cooler for my trans fluid - i run it in series with my stock cooler.
I have an extra Valve Body for a 2003 5AT in my possession. I'm willing to sell it if you are looking to buy one. has about 40K miles it.
