oil cooler help

oil cooler help

hi guys im new to the forum (= my name is kristina i recently tried to change my o-ring on my oil cooler . i took off the oil cooler and the ring fell out !! didnt see which way to install so i installd but had to stretch it out on 1 of the circles!! now my oil cooler is leaking even more !!! so my question is how do you install correctly and if i take off my oil cooler will all my oil drain out ?? i just put royal purple in it and it isnt cheap

also how much do i torque the oil cooler back down ??

You placed the o-ring behind the cooler right? Torque on the connector bolt is 36 ft/lbs.

yes but it still leaking i was thinking i didnt put it on right or i didnt torque it enough

also when u installd it did you have to stretch the o-ring out to fit ?? and if i tak it off will all my oil drain out ?? or just a quart ??

It fits around the center hub of the cooler. Should look like this...

is it possible you need another O-Ring? yours worn out? that's usually why it leaks....
anyway hit your local Nissan/Infiniti and get 21304-JA11A if you need one!

when u figure it out its very easy just take off oil filter take off the bolt i think its a 19mm or 21mm and remove it pop off the o-ring and put the new one on and put everything back on and torque 35lbs my problem i bought a messed up o ring
