Normal flywheel chatter?
Ok, so I understand that flywheel chatter in neutral is normal, I've lived with it for years. However, I just started hearing a different noise that I think might be related. If I'm decelerating to a near stop in 1st or 2nd, I hear a rubbing/scraping noise below about 2.5k. It stops shortly after I push the clutch pedal in.
Any ideas what this might be? It's all original parts on my '05 6MT. Everything except the OC replacement engine has about 87k on it. Maybe it's just time to replace the clutch and flywheel? It's not slipping at all, though.

Throw out bearings also make a ton of noise, that maybe what you're hearing. They get dry, worn and eventually freeze up so you can't go into gear. I put 117K miles on the clutch in my last '92 300ZXTT and only replaced because of a rear main seal failure. With your high mileage G and if you don't track your cars stay with OE clutches, look how long they've lasted....Gary
