Calling BS on Infiniti
Hey guys, just so you know, there's no changing out your $12 clutch tube assembly without Infiniti trying to charge you for a $707 part. I'm doing a clutch and flywheel change in the near future and got my car up in the air to take a look at the piping. There's an aluminium clutch tube assembly that attaches to the clutch line to the slave cylinder and it was looking in pretty bad shape so I thought I'd order a spare just in case it strips or tears up when I'm installing my SS line. The part #s are as follows:
clutch tube 30851-CF00B - roughly 12 dollars
spring lock 46206-M0200 - roughly 1 dollar
Both of these parts have been discontinued and for the new replacement part to work (according to infiniti) you have to buy an extra adapter piece costing 700 dollars for the new tube assembly to fit. Thanks Infiniti, you bunch of jerks.

Thier are other options:
Make your own line by matching tubing with some standard brake line available from most auto parts store.
Make line using tubing/fittings purchased seperately and flaring tool kit available to borrow from AutoZone (I fabricated my own Master Cylinder to ABS module lines this method)
Find a local shop that makes hydraulic line, usually they need your end fitttings.

i assume you tried finding the same parts for a Z at the nissan dealership and got the same answer and price? If so then time to just make a new connection like mentioned above. It's not terribly difficult or anything.
