I have a couple of trans questions I would like cleared up.

I have an '04 6MT sedan and I have searched and while I've gotten some answers, I'm still a little fuzzy on a couple things.

I have a grind when shifting from 1st to 2nd with any kind of vigor. I want to try a fluid change before condemning the synchros and calling the warranty company (I have an ESP). I see Redline recommended over and over but I can't find what viscosity I need. Will that be the same as what's recommend in my owner's manual or do you guys have another recommendation?

Also, I keep seeing people recommending the trans be replaced with the CD009 trans. Is this a newer 6mt? Where on this site can I find more details on this trans? Do any of you think my warranty ESP company will use this tranny if I need a replacement? If not, can you recommend a good place to buy one at a reasonable price?

Nice, simple answer. Thank you. One more question. The way i understand it, '04 was the first year for the LSD. Would I need an additive?

Redline MT85

No need for additives in the diff.

CD009 is a newer revision of the 6MT, it made some internal changes to the sycros I believe.

Am I correct that the '04 has a LSD?
