Hey guys,

[2003.5 AT]

So out of nowhere today, had a hard shift from a traffic light, got home and checked AT fluid, dipstick looks almost DRY! Never noticed any leaks before.... ??? Not sure what to do here...

Dry, or clear that wipes off brownish red? AT fluid can kind of be hard to see on the dipstick until you wipe it off on a clean cloth. Are you sure you checked it properly with the fluid warmed up?

I didn't think I had a leak either, until one day I noticed fluid on one of my hard lines coming from the transmission and heading toward the engine. On further inspection, I noticed a pin hole leak that was in between the 2 lines where they come close to touching. Swapped them out and did a transmission drain and fill and noticed I had leaked almost a quart without knowing it.

I added a quart, and inspected below... found no evidence of any leaks whatsoever anywhere! I kept checking the dipstick with and without the engine running, seems full... Maybe the oil dripped off the dipstick when I checked the first time, and that sent me into a panic...
