Automatic Trans Problem - p1574 - please help !!

I was driving today (in the rain) and i noticed i was getting stuck in different gears. i would accelerate and get stuck in first, and then slow down to a stop and it would let me shift the next time.
i tried to switch to manual mode, it wouldnt switch over at all. or if it did.. it would keep me in 1st or erratically switch. at one point, in manual i saw it go 3 2 1 as i made a turn (in the rain ... lots of fun). i'm thinking this is an electrical issue?

i did get a flush done at a shop last summer. not sure what type they did tho

Code indicates problem with speed sensor.

If transmission not shifting correctly the speed sensors could be dirty or faulty.

Speed sensors (2) are mounted on top of valve body. They are circular and the diameter of a pen.

If the TCM (Transmission Control Module ) is internal to valve body the whole upper circuit board needs to be replaced. If TCM is external than speed sensors can be unplugged from ckt board mounted on top of valve body.

Unfortunately there are know individual replacement parts available for valve body from infiniti/nissan or aftermarket companies.

I would check trans fluid for excess carbon/clutch material. Fluid should be bright pink, if fluid brown or black than its burnt and should be changed.

If excess carbon build up on sensors it would interfere with speed sensors and requires valve body removal to clean.

bump!

didnt have this issue again until today in the snow. Wouldnt let me shift out of first for the most part, or go into manual mode at all.. turned off traction control, same issue. id be driving and power to the wheels would just stop and the motor would be revving

reset the ecu on the side of the road, seemed good enough to get me to where i needed to be. but now the gear indicator is blank when i shift to drive or neutral. and my shifts are VERY harsh....

new transmission? the current one has 120k?
but sounds electrical to me... or maybe it isnt.. i have no idea

Update - still won't go into manual mode. No longer shifts into 5th gear while in drive . And popped an SES . Gonna check it tomorrow when I get home

You need a new valve body. leave it in long enough and you'll need a transmission too.

What year transmission? Check if it has 3 wires coming out or just a plug. If u pull the pan and find shavings, you'll need a trans anyways.

Pan dropped. No shavings pastnormal wear and tear from 120k.

Popped a 0720 which is output speed sensor circuit. Gonna take it to a transmission shop for them to take out the valve body and get that sensor . I don't trust myself with it because I know I'll lose something

Did you ever figure out exactly what the problem was?

the wire harness in the transmission had leaked oil into it and the oil was eating away at some of the wires.
replaced the harness and back to new

I see, I just got my tranny fluid changed. And it feels like the gears are slipping. But it doesn't happen in manumatic. I feel like it's something electrical as well. Did you change he harness yourself?
