Replacing Transfer Case 04 G35X

Replacing Transfer Case 04 G35X
Hey everyone, new to Infiniti and the forum. I recently purchased my g35x and noticed the AWD light was on. After researching the codes realized it was probably the AWD solenoid Then just for confirmation I had the light checked (waste of $$, but oh well). I was correct it was the AWD solenoid, which is in the transfer case. I have found a transfer case online and am ordering it. Problem is no matter how much research I've done, I haven't been able to find any DIY/videos/pics of the removal/install. If anyone has any info on that I would appreciate it greatly.
In addition I was also going to replace the differential fluids, tranny fluid, and of course the TC fluid. Any other suggestions while I'm under there?
Also, a few other sounds that are different to me: right after I start it there is a release type sound (swoosh), and what sounds like a knocking sound in the front passenger foot area after I have been driving it. I haven't troubleshooted those sounds yet because I figured I'd fix the solenoid first.

Thank Gman56, I live in Nevada so that would be quite the trek. I actually found some really good manuals and have put together a DIY taking pages from the different parts of the manuals. Still would be nice to hear from anyone who was done this though, so I don't forget anything I should be doing while I am down there.

I have the same issue after picking up a couple of codes C1204 and C1210.
I was wondering how difficult was it to replace the T.C and whether or not the solenoid was good in your new case?
I dont know if u can buy the solenoid separately?
I am pretty good with wrenches though
I can give you my email too if that would be easier.
Much appreciated if you could help out.

What was interesting is in the hot weather the light cleared itself, and AWD worked. But once it got cooler it came back on.

I actually haven't done it yet but it should fix it. I download all the Manuels needed for the install and purchased all new minor parts for the dealer.

What codes are you getting? I thought the same thing that my TC was shot but it turned out to be AWD controller under the steering wheel...I was getting a Solenoid code as well. I took out the AWD controller and opened it up and saw burned out resistor/transistor and got a bought one for from Ebay and no more AWD codes. $45
Also check the wiring at the TC. To my knowledge TC is pretty bullet proof and rarely fail (including the magnetic clutch that's built into it)
I did end up buying a used TC just in case so now i have an extra one....lol...Hope i can sell it soon..lol.
