Hey guys, recently i've been having some transmission issues and would love some input or help if possible. I have an 05 G coupe with 79k miles and I believe the transmission went out. I was driving at about 40mph and I tried to speed up and the RPM's were going up but my speed wasn't. It happened a few more times and then I pulled over and got it towed. The shop I went to today said that it is the Valve Body that needs to be replaced, and could possibly be more that needs to be replaced once they open the pan and see what's in it. They're asking $2200 just for the valve body. Im just seeing if anyone knows if this is a good deal or not or if there is something I can do. I want to just trade the car in but it basically has no value with a broken transmission. Also i've called a lot of local transmission shops and theyre all estimating it will cost 2.5k or more for a used transmission, and about 4500-5000 for a new one....

 

You can buy a used transmission and just make sure it's the same type. The valve body just unscrews after you take the oil pan off.

 

I don't know anything about fixing cars and i don't have the tools and stuff
