Recommend me a clutch for 2005 G35

Recommend me a clutch for 2005 G35

Hey guys,
My car is mechanically stock, and will be remaining so because soon I will be a broke-ish college student. However, soon I will need to replace the clutch/flywheel so I'm wondering if I should go with OEM or something else?

OEM will probably be the most expensive since the dual mass flywheel is really pricey.

Hey there,
Yea I should have specified lol. I guess I'm looking for something that isn't more expensive than OEM (my mechanic quoted me 1900 parts+labor) but I'd also like it to last as long as OEM does.

And if I DO get any performance mods anytime soon, it would probably be suspension or exhaust mods, so no big changes in power.

In terms of suspension, work on replacing old 100k worn bushings and ball joints before lowering/sway in' up.

I don't think I want to lower it. It's a daily driver so I want it to be practical still lol. Just thinking maybe stiffer shocks, stiffer sway bars for less body roll. But anyways, I'm only at 72k right now so clutch is the thing I'm worrying about first.

Stiffer shocks = less suspension dampening = less traction.

At stock height OEM is great. It's the worn out bushings and sway bar linkages that make the car feel sloppy.

Phil, go with the OE clutch, should last 100K miles! It's possible to resurface your current fly wheel, it won't need to be replaced. Since you're going to be on a tight budget have a brake/alignment shop check your suspension for worn parts, better now than later!

Jim Wolf Technology clutch kit. It's the last clutch you will ever buy.

Put mine in 6-7 years ago, still going strong.

You will have "shatter" on the low mass flywheel, I don't even notice it anymore.

Your clutch pedal effort will go up, but again I don't even notice it anymore. (It's rated for 450 hp)

The best part is everything is rebuildable, the flywheel has replaceable elements, the clutch pack easy to replace etc.

I can recommend importpartspro.com

You can get the entire kit you can get the entire kit clutch, pressure plate, throw out bearing, pilot alignmeant tool, throw out bearing, pivot sleeve, and SS clutch line for around $800. it cost me about 600 to install it ,

I'd be pretty grumpy to pay $1400 for a clutch that constantly "shatters" over a 6-7 year period lolol.

I thought it was impossible to resurface a Dual Mass Flywheel? Once you get it in the Lathe all the shavings can make their way into the flywheel.

Correct. My OE clutch lasted 80K. This one (JWT) will most likely last the life of the car, no more than we drive it now.

Sorry, didn't mean to go all quiet - I think I need to change my notification settings.

Gary C - I had something in my front suspension replaced right after I bought the car - I think maybe control arms? The tires were wearing unevenly that's how we could tell it needed something.

I did some research and I thought that resurfacing the dual mass flywheel is a bad idea because it might end up wearing out faster than the clutch would, and the labor in taking apart the transmission and replacing it would be a huge waste of money (I know an OK amount about cars but I don't have the time or technical skill to do stuff like this myself).

Texas scout - What do you mean "shatter"??
