P0024

Just bought a 05 g35 vq35 rev-up 6mt first it had p1084 and 01078 it was camshaft position sensors on exhaust so I replaced them now it’s popping up p0024 something about exhaust timing advanced thought it was timing solenoid so I replaced that but the codes still popping up and sometimes when you try to start the car it turns over but doesn’t crank it’s like the starter isn’t engaging the flywheel but then if you push the car forward or backwards about 6 inches it starts right up I need help please

It would cause the starter to spin and not crank the engine.
Fix that first and see what happens.
Is the vehicle smart enough to throw that code for a start malfunction I don't know but that would be a good place to start
Check the EC chapter in the FSM

P0024 is the bank 2 exhaust cam angle not matching what the computer is telling it to do.

Do you have enough oil in the engine?

You might need to replace that cam sensor.

You might need to replace the cam timing actuator.

Those are the major culprits.

i checked the oil and it’s right dead center of the cross hatched area so I guess I need to add some or is that ok and I’ve already replaced the cam sensor and cam timing solenoid if that’s the same as the cam timing actuator

Yeah the cam actuator is the cam solenoid, it uses oil pressure to advance the timing, when you replaced it did you look inside the little screen on the head to make sure there wasn't debris clogging it? When you replaced the cam sensor did you use an OEM Nissan one?

Yes you need to add a little oil but volume isn't the problem if you're within the high and low mark.

Since these are all computer controlled devices you should also clean up all the grounds, top of the timing chain cover, passenger side of the timing chain cover, below the coolant reservoir, chassis in the battery compartment, battery negative terminal. Use a wire brush on the lug, bolt threads, and the contact point, apply electrical anti-oxidation grease, retorque fasteners.

didn’t really think to check that and I replaced the sensors with aftermarket versions but they got the sensor codes off so I guess they’re good
