Hey guys, I have a situation. I have an ATF fountain coming out of the lower bolt that holds the bellhousing inspection cover. I am not very skilled when it comes to transmissions, so any advice is very appreciated.
Would a knowledgeable person please help me understand this, is this a quick fix where I just replace the inspection cover or is it a more serious issue. In my understanding, the torque converter has transmission fluid inside, and it spins so there will be some ATF on the walls inside of the bellhousing. But the amount and the force with which the ATF was leaking out of that lower bolt makes me believe there is substantial amount of tranny fluid in the bellhousing itself. Is that expected, or am I experiencing an internal issue as well, maybe with the torque converter or a solenoid.
Thank you
Attached some pictures. leak is out of the lower bolt No nut on that bolt, doesnt appear that it ever was there.
Hey there, in case there is anyone else with this issue, just got this checked out by a transmission mechanic, turns out its not the transmission. Its the power steering line that is rusted out, spraying onto the lower bolt mentioned in my original post.
