not as far as I know.

Do you let go of the gas as the shifts itself in full auto ?

You are doing the same operation as full auto, just telling it when

You can just shift without lifting your foot, but I find that if you do as you normally would if you were shifting a manual tranny, the shifts seem more natural somehow, and the lag time can be less.

Experiment both ways, and see what works best for you.

i do also find that lag time decreases if you let off the foot everytime you upshift or downshift... that is how I do it.

Same here...It seems to drag when you have your foot completely on it. Depending on how I drive. 90% of the time I let off my foot. People think I actually have a manual tranny. Its funny..

I never let off the gas, but I'll give it a try since you guys say it's a smoother shift.

ok,

someone's probably answered this before, but I cannot find a precise answer: why does the engine rev when downshifting into 2nd gear. I find the car lurching forward instead of slowing down the way I intended...

Do you have an '05? If so it's probably the rev matching. It's designed to protect the transmission from wear. New feature in the '05.
