The aluminum driveshaft is a 1 piece, it deletes the carrier bearing. As for brand if you want to keep the 2 piece OEM propeller shaft go with a reputable brand like Timken or even the OEM bearing. Be aware that some of the aftermarket center bearings are designed to use that THAT BRAND of propeller shaft and won't fit properly on the OEM shaft. Found that out the hard way with a Dorman one on the neighbors G, it was my fault though because the description clearly said it was designed to work with THEIR driveshaft.

Still not fixed but close.

So I decided to replace carrier bearing because rubber looked worn and crack. While I had driveshaft out I noticed one of the weights had come off. I replaced bearing and vibration is now worse. I am going to look into to getting it balanced. I already checked prices on having one built looks like 400 to 700 or new from Infiniti about 800. I have found them used for about 180, but I’d rather not. Seems like lots of companies make them for coupes but not the sedan. Anyone know where to source out a new aftermarket sedan driveshaft? Please let me know.

Ahh yeah sedans don't have many options. Call around locally for whoever makes custom driveshafts and have them put new u-joints in it and balance it for you. Just as good as buying a new one but for a fraction of the price.

Usually your hot rod custom shops and specialty tuners will know who in town makes them.

What’s the difference?

So I have been looking around for a drive shaft. I have found a tone of options for the coupe but none specify the sedan. What is the difference in length if any? I asked about one on the concept z web site and they told me it fits both. But I would think the sedan has to be longer right. Anyone have first hand experience? The other option is about 260 to get it rebuilt and balanced. But if I could get a one piece driveshaft that would mean less power loss. The price is about double but money really is not a problem.

I'd call Concept Z Performance, they list them for both chassis.

I THOUGHT the only difference was whether you had a 6MT or a 5AT.

Yeah I'm definitely interested to see how it turns out. I've never touched a sedan so I was just going off the common wisdom about sedan driveshafts not having a 1-piece option but if they're the exact same as the coupe and the only option is basically 5AT vs 6MT like CZ is suggesting that's some excellent news. Be aware at my aluminum 1 piece has a little bit of a vibration at 135+ and that's not uncommon for 1 piece driveshafts. It's really only an issue when drag racing and even then you're barely going to break 100mph crossing the line for an NA motor

Fixed it

Aluminum driveshaft fits perfectly no clearance issues maybe a hair long cause there is not much room for slip yoke to move maybe less than half a inch. Other than that it’s great. Happy to report no vibration at least up to 80mph. Haven’t had a chance to get it to 130 yet but we will see next time I get a good stretch of Highway.
