I need advice on the 2004 g35 coupe tranny

So im looking on buying one but i hear all the stories off the synchros on theses cars is this very common with this car or does it only happen to some the car has 122,000 miles on it i looks good i havent test drove it yet so also is there anything i should look for when test driving it thatll tell me to leave it alone

Worst case scenario you can buy a BRAND NEW CD00A from Nissan for around $1400.

Test drive the car and see what the gears feels like, if it's hard to get into a gear that tells you the synchro is probably worn on that gear, not the end of the world and you can definitely band-aid the transmission with Redline MT-85 fluid.

You can put loads of torque into these transmissions but the performance potential does come at the cost of longevity, even on a CD009 / CD00A. I only expect to get 7-8 years out of my year old CD00A. By the time it hits 100k miles on the transmission I expect to be rebuilding it's old CD009 and swapping it back in.

However there are a lot of folks who drive the car very conservatively and never track their car, you can get 200k out of this transmission with very conservative driving. This is a sports car though and most people aren't doing that.
